With a particular focus on driving strategy for hydrogen and its derivatives, considering supply, technology evaluation, distribution and storage, Darren has played a critical role in the delivery of major projects which support national energy supply as well as decarbonisation of industrial clusters.
With more than 25 years’ experience in the energy industry, Darren has worked in commercial, strategic, and technical roles in midstream and downstream sectors, including gas processing, refining, petrochemicals and gas-to-liquids.
Prior to joining Penspen in 2019, Darren held international business development roles at Costain and Technip.

At KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. he has worked his way up through all managerial and management levels in the energy and mechanical structures of copper ore mines. Knowledge of the technological processes of the main process line, operational effectiveness in managing the production infrastructure and efficiency in implementing innovative technological and organisational solutions are unquestionable assets of the manager.
In the course of his professional work, he has received numerous awards and distinctions including the title of Master Technician NOT of the Copper Belt in 2012 and in 2018, the 1st Prize of the Prime Minister for Scientific and Technical Achievements in 2016, the title of Master Technician FSNT-NOT in 2014. Together with his team, in 2017 he implemented the ISO50001 compliant Energy Management System at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.
The speaker is known for his participation in a number of key projects and initiatives that have had a significant impact on improving the energy efficiency of the company's processes within the framework of the implemented ISO50001 standard, optimising the operation of highly efficient gas and steam units supplying electricity and heat to the technological processes of mines and steel mills.

He has been involved with gas turbines since the beginning of his career and has experience in a number of technical and commercial positions. Professionally, he is involved in gas turbine and fuel cell applications for industry and power generation.
As a product manager, he is responsible for analyzing needs and selecting decarbonization solutions for both institutional and industrial customers. His specialty is the construction of low-carbon generation sources for energy-intensive industries and the management of waste gases from industrial processes.
Part of the team of EneriaCAT's Renewable Decarbonization and Development Department, which supports clients in their efforts to reduce operating costs of their business while reducing emissions.

dr inż. Marcin Błesznowski
He is a graduate of the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology and a representative of IEN-PIB in Hydrogen Europe Research, European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) in the area of fuel cells and hydrogen technologies.
He has been involved in the field of solid oxide electrochemical cells for more than 17 years. Author/co-author of dozens of expert reports and studies for the industry. In terms of projects, he has carried out, as a team member or project manager, research on numerical modeling (NCN, NCBR, 6FP, 7FP), experimental campaigns (NCBR, H2020, ERA-NET) and application issues in the field of stack and installation with SOFC cells (NCBR, MNiSW). As part of a consortium (CBRF, ENERGA, IEN-PIB), he led the work of the Institute of Energy to develop a cogeneration plant with SOFC cells at MW scale (NCBR project “Heat Plant of the Future”).
Dr. Marcin Błesznowski, Eng. is the author and co-author of many articles, conference presentations. He is the recipient of Siemens award and scholarships for R&D activities: scholarship of the Minister of Education and Science for outstanding young scientists, DAAD, scholarship for doctoral students from Mazowsze, BRISK2. In addition to his scientific and technical activities, he is also involved in work aimed at assessing the potential and cost of implementing the hydrogen economy concept in Poland (Horizon Europe, NCBR, NFOŚiGW, Sectoral Agreement for the Development of the Hydrogen Economy in Poland).

Graduate of MBA - Energy and Climate Policy Management and Executive MBA diploma accredited by Apsley Business School - London. Master's degree completed at the University of Szczecin majoring in economics.
Since November 2018, he has been a member of the Board of the Wielkopolska Region (second term), responsible for economy, environment, sports and tourism in the Region. Since 2019, he has served as Chairman of the Wielkopolska Hydrogen Platform, which is a platform for exchanging experience and initiating activities to build the economic potential of Wielkopolska to become a leader in the area of economy related to the use of hydrogen technologies.
He is one of the initiators of the signing of the Declaration on the establishment of the Wielkopolska Hydrogen Valley, enabling the creation of a coordinated and integrated ecosystem of links supporting the development of technology, knowledge, business and education, contributing to the decarbonization of the economy for climate neutrality, respecting the social challenges of the transition. He is responsible for liaison with the Wielkopolska Council of Thirty (WR30), i.e. representatives of WW's self-governing organizations, science, business and local governments.
Since September 2020, he has been a member of the Wielkopolska Regional Council of the Future Industry.
Since August 2022, he has been a member of the Economic Area Development Council operating at the Kostrzyn-Slubice Special Economic Zone.

From 2000 to 2004, he supported the accession negotiations and Poland's adaptation to EU requirements in the areas of 'energy' and 'research and development'.
Between 2012 and 2015, he was a member of the political cabinet of two Polish Ministers of the Environment and a member of the supervisory board of the provincial branch of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Lublin. He was involved in the negotiation regarding the second European energy and climate change package. In addition, he served as an advisor to the President COP19 (United Nations Climate Change Conference).
From 2016 to 2018, he was a research director at the Policy Insight think tank. Moreover, he co-founded the NGO, the Foundation for the Promotion of Electric Vehicles, where he served as vice-president from 2018 to 2020.
He participated in two Euro-Atlantic exchange programmes, the US State Department's International Leadership Programme and the German-American Marshall Fund programme.
In 2014, the President of the Republic of Poland awarded him the Silver Cross for services to strengthen and develop European integration.

Szymon Byliński


Szymon Byliński
For the past 12 years, he has worked as a civil servant. As an employee of the Ministry of Economy and later the Ministry of Energy, he was responsible for regulations concerning the fuel market, alternative fuel infrastructure, and fuel quality. He was the head of the ministry's team for the development of alternative fuels and, since 2018, has held senior positions in the civil service. Until December 2024, he was the Director of the Electromobility and Hydrogen Economy Department at the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
Throughout his career, Szymon Byliński co-created key documents for the development of innovation in the energy sector in Poland, particularly the Act of January 11 on electromobility and alternative fuels, the Polish Hydrogen Strategy for 2030 with a perspective until 2040, and amendments to the Energy Law introducing hydrogen into the Polish legal framework. He developed and coordinated work on support programs for Poland's clean energy technology sector.
Szymon Byliński is a graduate of the National School of Public Administration. He also completed the Executive MBA program at the Warsaw School of Economics.

Previously, she was the Hydrogen Ecosystem Director at Michelin and held leadership roles in the French Hydrogen Association and H2 Mobility France. She also served as President of Hydrogen Europe and chaired the governing board of the Fuel Cell Hydrogen Joint Undertaking.
With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, Ms. Bouillon-Delporte has extensive expertise in marketing clean technologies. She has held board positions at Lhyfe and Rely Solutions and holds degrees from Kedge Business School and ESSEC Paris.
Her achievements include being named a Knight of the Order of the French Legion of Honour and receiving multiple awards for her contributions to energy and mobility. She is also a founder of WAVE (Women Automotive and Vehicles in Europe).
Jorgo Chatzimarkakis

He currently holds the position of CEO of the association. He previously covered roles in the planning department of the Foreign Office of Germany, at Infineon Technologies and was Member of the European Parliament (2004-2014) inter alia in the ITRE Committee (Industry, Technology, Research and Energy) where he could contribute to lay the cornerstone for the first and the second Joint Undertaking on hydrogen and fuel cells.
He was awarded Hydrogen Person of the Year at the World Hydrogen Awards 2022, “as a major player promoting hydrogen in Europe and world-wide, accelerating collaboration and industry development”.
Jorgo was born in Duisburg, Germany. He holds German and Greek nationality, and a degree in political science from the University of Bonn.

Tomasz Cieszewski
Graduate of Cranfield University and Silesian University of Technology. His experience included working at Jaguar Land Rover's test center, where he worked on battery safety and efficiency for electromobility. From 2020 to 2023, he developed hydrogen projects at SBB Energy, from technological concepts to the implementation of installations, including cogeneration from a 5 MW electrolyzer and a pilot hydrogen storage facility for Polish railroads. At MEITILL Solutions, he serves as a technologist and focuses on cooperation with technology suppliers, equipment selection and simulation of hydrogen systems.

With over 30 years of experience in airport operations, his career has spanned roles in airport infrastructure development, managing approval procedures, and leading land-side development and airport accessibility initiatives. For the past two decades, Massimo has been actively involved in EU advocacy, promoting Malpensa Airport's development strategies. His efforts have been instrumental in securing over €113 million in grant funding from key EU programs such as TEN-T, CEF, INTERREG, H2020, and Horizon Europe. From 2016 to 2018, he served as an External Expert for the European Commission’s DG-REGIO, contributing to projects focused on sustainable transport (airports) and multi-modal transport. Additionally, Massimo is a Board Member of NETLIPSE, a European network dedicated to sharing best practices in managing and organizing large infrastructure projects.

After graduation, he started working at the design office of Gdynia Shipyard, progressing from a specialist to a general designer. In 2006, he joined Baltic Design Centre (BDC) design office, being its co-founder. In 2010, BDC merged with the British-Norwegian Hamworthy Group, which has been part of Wartsila Group since 2012. At Hamworthy/Wartsila, he was responsible for designing various types and sizes of gas carriers (LNG, LPG and LEG).
At the end of 2018, he left Wartsila Group and started working with Seatech Engineering, a Polish design office located in Gdańsk. At Seatech Engineering, he continues the development of gas carriers and bunkering vessels, as well as FSRUs. He is also involved in the development of onshore poly-generation energy solutions where LNG is the main fuel. More recently, together with Seatech Engineering, he has been focusing on vessels powered by alternative fuels such as methanol, hydrogen and ammonia.

Member of the External Advisory Board of the Green Nets project. He has conducted courses on energy efficiency within the EUREM – European Energy Manager program. He was also a lecturer in the postgraduate studies “Investment Efficiency in Renewable Energy Sources” at the University of Wrocław.
He specializes in energy efficiency in industrial power engineering, the energy market, and industrial energy intensity. Author of numerous publications and expert in R&D projects in the field of machine diagnostics and power measurement.

With 30 years of experience across banking, financial markets, green energy, and real estate, he has worked with companies at various stages of development. Notably, he served as Chief Risk Officer at PKO Bank Polski from 2008 to 2011, overseeing risk management and debt collection division.
In 2012, the President of the National Bank of Poland recognized him for his contributions to the banking sector. His key interests are banking, sustainability and energy transformation.
He completed an internship at the Depository Trust Company in New York in 1998 and holds certifications as an investment advisor and EFPA ESG Advisor (2023). He graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics, furthered his education with postgraduate studies in philosophy at Collegium Civitas, and completed courses
at Erasmus University Rotterdam, the University of Pennsylvania, and Wharton School.
He is married to Łucja, father to Nina and Gaia, and an active triathlete and board member of the TRICLUB ASSOCIATION. He also supports education development as a member of a private secondary school’s management board and the EFPA Foundation Council.

After studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Coimbra and Marketing & Communication in the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, Manuel Fonseca developed his activity in the gas downstream sector in Portugal and Europe, focused in LNG small scale, biogas and hydrogen, looking for solutions in partnership with clients.
Manuel believes that the fight against Climate Change takes place in national and international political decision-making bodies and in companies, but also in the daily lives of all citizens. Anyone can, and should, be an agent of change at home, on the street or at work, with small gestures that, multiplied by millions and millions of people, become a veritable wave of energy with a positive impact.

Since 2018, she has been involved in research and research-development projects focused on process optimization and the development of catalytic materials for the synthesis of fuels, including hydrogen. She is currently employed as assistant professor at the Department of Process Engineering and Chemical Technology at Gdańsk University of Technology. Her research interests include the development of catalytic materials dedicated to the generation of hydrogen, syngas, methanol, and methane from renewable and waste sources.

Manager with more than 20 years of professional experience. He has carried out tasks related to building short and long-term action plans, effective use of human resources, building and developing teams, performance management, negotiations, implementation of new solutions and technologies, and implementation of integrated information systems.
He has experience in developing and implementing operating strategies in commercial companies and extensive knowledge in leading and implementing major projects, including EU projects focused on environmental protection.
In 2019, he assumed the position of President of the Board of Directors of the Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Plant Sp. z.o.o. in Kole. He led the construction of one of the most modern wastewater treatment facilities in Poland, which is part of the Closed Circuit Economy by converting all the sewage sludge into fertilizer for agriculture. He is the originator of a pilot program to combat hydrological drought in the Koło district, which will be implemented jointly with the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, the State Water Management Company Wody Polskie and the Pątnów- Adamów-Konin Power Plant Complex.

Dr inż. Paweł Gładysz


Dr inż. Paweł Gładysz
He obtained his Ph.D. in Power Engineering from the Silesian University of Technology in 2015. Since 2010, he has been involved in numerous research and industrial projects in the areas of thermal engineering, modelling and optimization of thermal processes – primarily focused on carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies and combined heat and power (CHP) systems. His expertise also includes life cycle assessment, both ecological (LCA) and techno-economic evaluations, and energy policy.
Between 2021 and 2024, he led the CCUS.pl project, which developed a strategic roadmap for the implementation of CCUS in Poland. Since late 2024, he has been serving as a co-founder and President of the Board of the CCUS Poland Association.

He has worked on complex drilling and floating production projects across the globe, together with M&A projects. Before this he was in private practice as a litigator for Linklaters in London. His most recent role prior to joining Innargi was Vice President, Commercial at Maersk Drilling where he established dedicated contract negotiation, tendering, marketing, and product management functions. Philip holds a master’s degree in Law from Oxford University.

For 20 years, he has led legal teams within the entities he manages, handling investments, including in the energy, chemical and oil&gas sectors, cooperating with Polish and foreign entrepreneurs, leading in these markets. He specializes in the legal aspects of preparing and implementing large investment projects and transformations within capital groups at the national and cross-border level.
A long-time lecturer in civil and commercial law, including at the R. Łazarski Academy of Business and Administration, the University of Warsaw and the Warsaw Bar Association, as well as a parliamentary advisor.
He is the author of many scientific publications in the field of civil and commercial law, in particular in the field of civil liability in commercial transactions, as well as legislation in the field of commercial law.
In addition to providing legal advice to businesses, he acts as one of the leading specialists in sports law, including as a long-time arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport of the Polish Olympic Committee.

He founded the consultancy company Budovy21 and was the director of Chance for Buildings, a professional association for energy-efficient construction. He previously worked at the Ministry of the Environment as an advisor to ministers and director of the Sustainable Energy and Transport Department.

He has been involved in national and European R&D projects for many years.

In 2020-2022 Wojciech played a role of Project Manager for LOTOS Green H2 Project – 100 MW electrolyser project, producing renewable hydrogen for the Gdańsk refinery decarbonization needs. (in 2023 Project received EU notification under CEEAG for 158 EURm state aid support).

Certified expert in hydrogen technology. Member of the Baltic Sea Hydrogen Valley consortium - the largest hydrogen valley in the Baltic Sea region.
Co-operated with most of the hydrogen valleys in Poland, providing strategic advice on development models. Author of the concept of the Hydrogen Valleys Innovation Ecosystem Coordinator and initiator of the District Heating Competition, which promotes energy transformation in heating, including electrification and renewable energy.
At IDA he was responsible for the group's energy transition plan and the creation of the Hydrogen Valleys Innovation Ecosystem in Poland. He has authored and co-authored a number of publications on gas and energy storage in salt caverns, the operation of storage chambers, CO2 storage and the study of reservoir rock properties.
He graduated from the CGS Europe Spring School on CO2 Geological Storage. As part of his research work, he also conducted research at the University of Houston-Downtown in the Thermal Analysis Laboratory.
He has participated in many international and national projects and NCBiR and NCN research grants. He has co-authored research papers for industry on analyses related to the operation of storage chambers in salt deposits, the possibility of constructing salt caverns for underground hydrogen storage, and the identification of formations and structures for safe geological storage of CO2.

For many years he was responsible for the development of diversification projects, including gas interconnectors between Poland and the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania and Denmark / Norway (Baltic Pipe project), the implementation of which ensured Poland's energy security in the area of natural gas and enabled the country to become independent from the supply of this resource from Russia. Actively involved in GAZ-SYSTEM's relations with the European Commission to enable the implementation of key gas infrastructure projects and their financial support from EU funds.
As part of international cooperation, he co-created strategies to support the role of gas in economies aiming at decarbonization, to take into account its contribution to climate policy goals as a so-called transition fuel and to prepare for the implementation of renewable gases (hydrogen, biomethane). He participated in the development of GAZ-SYSTEM's positions in the EU legislative process, especially with regard to the so-called Gas and Hydrogen Package, including the company's possible operation in the hydrogen area.
He is currently involved in initiatives related to the process of designing the basis for the operation of the hydrogen economy at the national and European levels, especially in the infrastructure aspect.

From November 2018 to February 2023, she held the position of Director of the Legislation and Strategy Department at the Czech Gas Association. Additionally, from June 2022, she concurrently served as Acting Executive Director. In these roles, she played a pivotal part in shaping the legislative landscape of the gas sector and overseeing the transformation of the ČPS itself. From 2017 to 2018, member of the management board of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis. In the years 2013-2015 he was the president of the energy company Enea, and from 2008 to 2013 he was the vice-president of Tauron Polska Energia. Associate professor at the Silesian University of Technology and the WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza. He is the author or co-author of over 40 publications and scientific and research opinions. His research work focuses on issues related to energy economics, energy market, capacity market, acquisition and consolidation of companies, innovation and logistics process management.
From May 2024, he also serves as the Honorary Consul of Romania for the areas of the Silesian, Łódź and Greater Poland voivodeships, based in Katowice.

She is one of the initiators of the Holcim Poland - Kuyavia Go4ECOPlanet project. She holds a master's degree in chemical technology engineering from the J. J.
