Business likes clean energy

Business customers will receive 10 per cent more green energy in 2024 compared to the previous year. The total value of avoided CO2 emissions thanks to TAURON's solutions for business exceeded one million tonnes last year. Meanwhile, orders for eco products for the current year were placed by more than two thousand segment customers.

We will do everything to support and dynamise this process, because the future belongs to clean, environmentally neutral energy, which must additionally be available to the customer at an acceptable price," explainsMariusz Purat, CEO of TAURON Sprzedaż.

The value of avoided carbon emissions is particularly important for companies in terms of reporting non-financial activities in the ESG (Environmental, Social, Corporate Governance) area and meeting EU regulatory requirements. When measuring the carbon footprint of a business, we take into account the emissions produced by the company itself, those related to the electricity used within the company, as well as those produced throughout the supply chain.

- We provide our customers with increasingly higher volumes of clean, green energy. Thus, the company and institution will receive over 40,000 megawatt-hours more green energy from TAURON sources this year than a year earlier - says Mariusz Purat, president of the management board of TAURON Sales. – Maximum reduction of impact on the natural environment, supported by business companies in achieving the development goal. Only in one year, thanks to the EKO line products we offer, companies and institutions avoided emitting over one million tons of carbon - emphasizes Mariusz Purat.

TAURON recorded the production of green energy at the time of occurrence, and the total power of the TAURON Group's energy source is almost 700 megawatts.

Business customers are increasingly willing to use environmentally friendly products. The one used is EKO Premium, which has energy that is 100 percent authentic from a renewable energy source of the TAURON Group, such as a hydroelectric power plant, wind farm or photovoltaic installation. Orders for EKO Premium, EKO Biznes and Guarantee of Origin products for the key year over twelve customers from this segment.

By this year, energy from TAURON sources will go to, among others, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland, PZU, and the "Wieliczka" Salt Mine, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

EKO Premium is a unique product on the market, apart from the fact that it includes a Guarantee of Origin, it is the only one in Poland covered by the Ecological Energy Sales Guarantee System. It is supervised by the Polish Energy Certification Society, which comes from a renewable energy source, and they also examine its overall impact on the natural environment.
